It's the #1 scare for new growers: white fuzz at the base of your stems. Is your crop ruined? Likely not. These are "root hairs"—tiny microscopic structures that help the plant absorb water. If they disappear when sprayed with water, they are roots. If they look like a spiderweb and climb the stem, it's mold.
